Random Mini-Road Trip

I STILL have to write about my GREAT birthday and the INCREDIBLE experience I had as a counselor last week at Camp Friendship up in Maryland...but it is so late, I just have to write about what happened tonight, because it's random as hell.

Oh yeah, first of all, I got my necklace back from Tiffany's today. It is a little longer now and now has "Malory" engraved on the back. Hot shit, I know. I was gonna play tennis with Denise today, but I was like "um...yeah, I can't today. I just got my necklace back from Tiffany's and my hair is all curly and stuff...it's kind of a *cute* day. Can't get all sweaty." So after wal-mart and ice cream with Jamarl (that Hershey's Ice Cream place is really, really good), I came back home to see what was up for tonight. Reno calls me around 7:30 and tells me he is randomly near my house. He comes over and we go to Manifest since it's right up the street. I was waiting to see if my aunts were going to come over before I really went out to do something, so once I found out they weren't coming over I asked Reno what we were gonna do. Everyone was pretty much preoccupied, so we were trying to figure out what to do. Reno says "I have a really crazy idea. It's gonna throw you off once I tell you." I ask him what it is and he says - "Let's take a mini-road trip!" I'm like - hell yeah! So then we have to decide on somewhere. Reno threw out Asheville and ATL. Clearly ATL is like 4 hours away...and this was at like 9:15pm that we're deciding to go somewhere. Since Asheville is 2 or 2 1/2 hours away, I suggest Boone - it's mountains, but still a little closer, maybe an hour and a half. I call some people in Boone, and then Chapel Hill, and Winston-Salem, trying to see if there was anyone closer, but hardly no one picked up (sorry I didn't call you back, Kareen! I suck =(). We eventually decide on Boone. We head up 321 or whatnot and go through Hickory and shit, then get to Blowing Rock and Boone. In Boone we get out a little bit at App State and take a few pictures. Oh yeah, we took some pictures at Tweetsie Railroad too. After we drove around the area around App State a little bit, we started heading back. We said we get on the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way back, Jamarl also suggested it. So we get on and figure out which way we need to go to be going in the right direction. We begin driving and it is dark as hell! There are NO streetlights, NO cars, no sign of civilization whatsoever. Just us. So we drive for a little while, and by like 5-10 minutes into it, we're starting to get a little scared, but we keep driving, lol. I told Reno we shoulda just drove down a little bit, then turned back around and got back on 321, but he said "no, we'll just take the BRP, then catch 181 to I-40 into Hickory, back to 321." So we basically went around our ass to get to our elbow. But it was wicked fun...except the being scared outta our minds part, haha. Well, even that was a little fun. It took us way too long to get back, and you couldn't even see shit on the BRP because it was so dark. I really wanna go back in the fall, when the leaves are changing. I bet it's beautiful then...and during the daytime of course. I just got back home about 30 minutes ago, haha. We decided any future mini-road trips will be kept INSIDE of the Piedmont region. We are clearly not cut out for those deserted areas. Next possible trip locations include: Raleigh, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Salisbury (Rockwell included, of course), somewhere in Cabarrus, Iredell or Stanly counties, Kannapolis, Gastonia, Rock Hill, Fort Mill...hey, maybe we'll even get real crazy and hit up Pineville or Matthews. The point is, we will not be taking anymore half-day trips to the mountains, at least not when they're scary at night. But at least this will be a great memory that I'll keep forever =) Yay for us being insane. I fucking love us!!! Hahahaha.

Oh yeah, OFFICIAL theme song of the night: "Scar Tissue" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Secondary and unofficial theme song: "Lose Control" by Missy, Ciara & Fatman Scoop, Song that gets honorable mention just because I enjoy the way Reno says "RAW!" during that one part - "Don't Cha?" by the Pussycat Dolls...and finally, song that I enjoy just because it's so fun to sing - "Shake It Off" by Mariah Carey.

Well, breakfast with the homies tomorrow morning. Good night all. <3 Love Ya! <3
